Inspired by childhood memories of dinner at home with the family, Tara McConnell Tesher launched her stoneware company, Tara at Home, in 2002 to help others create memories of joy and happiness. In 2016, a consultant opportunity followed.
Their stoneware has different patterns that can complement each buyer's unique personal style. The stoneware is durable, multi-functional, and nonstick. It is even metal utensil safe, refrigerator/freezer safe and oven safe up to 500°F, and can be placed in the microwave and dishwasher, meaning you can prep, cook, serve, store, and reheat using just this one dish.
Their website says that “the versatility of our products makes prepping faster and easier so you can spend more time on the important things in life—like gathering together with friends and family to enjoy delicious meals…and of course less cleanup (our favorite part of it all)!”
Compensation: You earn a weekly commission based on the sales earned. You can earn 25% on all stoneware and accessories sold and 15% commission on pantry and consumables. If you reach a certain level of personal sales volume per month, you have the potential to earn additional bonuses of 5%-15%. There are also promotion bonuses available every time you move up a level and you can earn an additional commission based on each new consultant you add to your team. The more consultants you add, the higher your potential bonus is.
Start-Up Costs: Tara At Home offers a $145 Cashmere white or color startup kit that is worth $315, and contains products such as mugs, bowls, gloves, knives, marketing materials, and business materials. You also receive a 25% discount on stoneware & accessories, and 15% on pantry items.
Or you can choose to upgrade for an additional $150 to the Product Display Upgrade. This is worth $373 and is available only during sign-up. In addition to the items in the start-up kit, it contains pantry items, bowls, knives, insulated baker tote, among other items to help you start selling products even faster.
Personal Website: You receive your own Tara At Home website for free for the first two months after joining. After that, it is $7 per month and you can cancel any time if you want.
Quotas to Maintain Active Status: There are no minimum quotas per month. Consultants are not required to have inventory at any time.
Hostess Rewards: If you are able to place an order for three or more customers at one time, and that order is worth $250 or more, you are able to earn product credit. You will also receive 50% product rewards that can be used for promotional purposes or in your own kitchen! Free shipping is available when you are able to place 6 orders or more together.
Consultants are able to earn points towards trips and free jewelry. Last year, consultants were able to earn free trips to New York City, California, Las Vegas, and Jamaica with all expenses paid. Tara At Home also offers cash bonuses for exceeding sales quotas.
New consultants who join now are able to earn double points to make it even easier to earn trips and bonuses. And as a new consultant, you can earn $600 worth of Tara At Home gift cards when you get started, in addition to the normal commission.
Tara started the direct sales aspect about a year ago and there are currently about 700 consultants located throughout the United States. Customers can either order at a gathering or directly on the consultant’s personal website. According to Tara At Home’s website, each average customer order is over $100 dollars. Tara At Home accepts anyone who wants to earn money by working at home.
