Scout & Cellar is a unique wine company that curates clean-crafted wine. Founded by Sarah Shadonix, Scout & Cellar was created because Sarah would get headaches after a single glass of wine. She discovered that each of these mass-produced wines contained up to 300 chemical additives which were the source of her headaches. She then made it her mission to find the best clean-crafted wines so that her customers could live a cleaner, healthier, and better life.
Scout & Cellar’s product line includes wines from all over the world, including Austria, Oregon, France, California, Italy, Chile, and more. While most mass-produced wines contain up to 350 ppm of sulfites, added sugar or sweetener concentrate, GMO ingredients, synthetic pesticides, and other chemicals, Scout & Cellar aims to deliver certified clean-crafted wines. Their wines will only include grapes and usually less than 55 ppm of sulfites. Because they only sell wines that are grown naturally, they believe they are selling an all-around better wine experience.
You can purchase the wines either online or through one of their consultants. As a consultant, you can provide your customers with a more personalized experience as you begin to understand their personal tastes and help guide them to the right bottle. The consultants don’t carry their own inventory; the company ships the wine directly to the customer. If you don’t have wine knowledge, that is okay because Scout & Cellar teaches you everything you need to know.
The number of bottles they source for their collections are limited, so once they run out, you most likely won’t see the same wine in their collections. The founder, Sarah, does curate several new releases every month.
Scout and Cellar Compensation
If you sell less than 500 a month, you will earn 12% commission. Once you start selling more, you can earn more. If you sell between 500-1499 in a month, you receive 18%. If you sell between 1500-2999, you earn 20% and if you sell more than that, you can earn 25%. If you plan on just doing this casually, you might not make that much money because the percentage starts lower than many other MLM companies. To advance in the company and earn more bonuses, you can add to your team and earn a portion of their sales as well.
As long as you sell more than $500 in a month, you get 5% back in sample credits that you can then use to buy products on the website.
Start-Up Costs
You must purchase a Business Basics Kit for $249 which contains all the necessary products and tools for you to start your own Scout & Cellar wine business. The kit includes a wine carrier, wine markers, corkscrew, a sprout, a wine saver, and a personal Scout & Cellar website for one year. It also includes four bottles of clean-crate wine. In addition, you also get business building materials that you can use when you attend events.
Personal Website
The first year of your website is included for free in your start-up kit, but after that, you will be billed an annual $99.95 fee.
Quotas to Maintain Active Status
You aren’t required to sell a specific quota each month, but you do have to maintain a personal sales volume total to stay active.
Bonus Opportunities
Scout & Cellar has a fast-start incentive program. For the first four months, you must sell $2000 within that period to get a bonus. You can also get advanced bonuses for each level you advance to and for every consultant you mentor who continues to progress as well.
Age or Location Requirements
You must be 21 years of age or older and either a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Scout & Cellar was started in October 2017, so this is a ground floor opportunity. While the number of consultants is growing, you might face less competition than other companies. In their first seven months of business, they made more than $5 million in sales. This company is growing fast so it would be a great time to join in.
