Plumeria was started in 2013 by Cindy Inman. Cindy’s obsession with bath products prompted her to begin making bath bombs in her kitchen, and the business grew from there. She started to make handmade soaps and then continued to expand her line by adding lotions, sugar scrubs, whips, candles, and more.
Just seven months after starting her business, Plumeria began to work with their first direct sales consultants, called PLUMS. Plumeria creates simple, high-quality ingredients that are handcrafted into bath products that are artfully designed. They have lines geared toward both men and women.
Plumeria does not test on animals and promises that they never will. Some of their products can be considered natural such as their magnesium cream and some of the Plumeria’s ingredients are made of organic or vegan products. In general, their products natural made ingredients that do not contain harsh chemicals or preservatives. However, the company does use man-made fragrances and colors.
PLUM consultants start making 30% commission until they earn more than $5,000 in lifetime sales volume. Once they surpass that number, the consultants move up to a 35% commission on their sales. In order to start receiving commissions and be a qualified, active PLUM, you must sell at least $10 worth of product per quarter. The consultants get paid on the 15th of each month for the previous month’s compensation cycle.
Like nearly all other direct sales companies, Plumeria consultants can add people to their team and earn a percentage of the sales from their consultants on their downlines. The more people you add to your team, the greater your potential to earn is.
You can choose between two different starter kits: The Stem Starter Kit and the blossom starter kit. The Stem Starter Kit costs $99.99 and has a retail value of $150. It includes a variety of products including soaps, Epsom salt blends, lotions, and creams. It also provides everything you need to get started with your own business including order forms, invitations, cards, and catalogs. The Blossom Starter Kit has a retail value of $390 and will cost you $159.99. It includes everything you get in the Stem Starter Kit but with more items like deodorant, bath bombs, and scrubs.
Having a personal website is essential to your success as a PLUM. Every year on the anniversary of signing up, you must pay a fee of $60, which will go towards the maintenance of your website. Having the website also gives you access to a back office where you can place orders, create parties, or look at reports.
Quotas to Maintain Active Status
In order to stay active, you must have a sales volume of at least $10 per quarter and pay your annual renewal fee. The sales volume can be reached either by placing orders through your back office or by customers placing orders through your website.
Plumeria is still a budding company, so the bonus opportunities are not as significant as other companies. However, the PLUM consultants can earn bonus commission starting at 3% when you sell $1,000 and reaches up to 12% bonus commission once you sell more than $5,001 in a month.
PLUM consultants can also compete each month to win monthly prizes. For example, consultants can enter to win an iPad or other similar items.
Age or Location Requirements
You must be 18 years or older to join, and the position is open to all locations in the United States and Australia.
Plumeria is still a relatively new company breaking into the direct sales market. Some states only have a few consultants who are selling Plumeria, so you won’t find that the market is overly crowded. In total, there are less than 300 consultants in the United States. Thanks to a little competition, easy-to-hit monthly quotas, and a growing company, Plumeria might be a company to consider if you want a new work at home opportunity.
